Interdisciplinary Tumor Boards
At tumor board meetings, experienced physicians of oncology disciplines meet to discuss the best therapy for patients on an interdisciplinary basis.
The tumor board meetings are the starting point for interdisciplinary treatment and the key to the best possible coordinated multiprofessional diagnosis and therapy of malignant diseases.

Tumor Boards at Charité
The Charité Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCCC) supports the collaboration of the different disciplines dealing with tumor medicine at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, it coordinates all tumor conferences taking place at Charité and provides technical support for the teleconference systems.
Interdisciplinary tumor board meetings are held in a regular weekly cycle, see weekly schedule. At these tumor boards, representatives of the required disciplines from all three Charité sites are connected via teleconferencing. The jointly agreed therapy recommendations are recorded in tumor board protocols and subsequently discussed with the patients. Adherence to therapy recommendations can be tracked through documentation in CCCC Clinical Cancer Registry.
All physicians working in oncology at Charité have the opportunity to participate in the meetings in order to present and advise on patient cases. Even as a treating physician outside Charité, you can register patient cases for presentation in the tumor board. If you have any questions, please contact our contact persons or the Cancer Hotline.
Discussion of a Patient in an Interdisciplinary Tumor Board
As a physician, would you like your patients who have not yet been treated at Charité to be discussed in a tumor board?
In this case, please submit the following documents to the Charité Comprehensive Cancer Center:
- Registration form
- Patient consent form
- radiological images on CD (CT, MRT, etc.)
- the written radiological results
- all relevant medical reports on the disease
- important: pathological / histological findings
A big request for the provision of the findings
Documents printed on only one side make our work much easier.
Please save yourself the trouble of stapling the documents, thereby saving us valuable working time.

Participation in Interdisciplinary Tumor Board Counts as Advanced Training
The tumor conferences of the Charité Comprehensive Cancer Center are continuing education events certified by the Berlin Medical Association. The regular dates can be found in the weekly schedule, see Downloads.

Molecular Tumor Board
Appointment: weekly, Tuesdays 2:00 p.m. (video conference participation possible) - contact via Dr. rer. nat. St. Rakowsky or the Cancer-Hotline)
Duration: 60 minutes
Location: Charité Comprehensive Cancer Center, 3rd floor, conference room
Participating disciplines: Hematology/Oncology, Molecular Pathology, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, clinical colleagues from the presenting departments, Radiology if applicable.
