Event for expert public only

Dear Colleagues,

It is our pleasure to cordially invite you to a special seminar with Dr. Carlo Rivolta, University of Lausanne, Switzerland.

CCCC/DKTK Seminar

Genetic landscape of primary and metastatic uveal melanoma by whole-genome sequencing

Carlo Rivolta, PhD

Tenured Group Leader and Privat Docent, Department of Computational Biology, Unit of Medical Genetics, University of Lausanne, Switzerland

Date: October 25, 2016
Time: 1 - 2 p.m.
Venue: Charité Comprehensive Cancer Centre | Campus Charité Mitte
Konferenzraum, level 3
Invalidenstr. 80 / Virchowweg 23 | 10117 Berlin

Carlo Rivolta obtained his PhD in Science (Molecular Genetics) at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. He then moved to the laboratory of Prof. Thaddeus Dryja at Harvard Medical School (MEEI/MGH) Boston, USA for his postdoctoral training. Since ten years, he leads the medical genetics group at the Department of Computational Biology (DCB) at the University of Lausanne. His team is mainly interested in the molecular genetics of retinitis pigmentosa and other retinal degenerations and, in general, in the analysis of next-generation sequencing data as a means to detect genotype/phenotype correlations in human disorders. Thanks to an active collaboration with the Ophthalmic Hospital in Lausanne he is involved in the study of uveal melanoma, that has led to the whole genome sequencing of a large cohort of primary and metastatic uveal melanomas (see: www.cell.com/ajhg/fulltext/S0002-9297(16)30388-3 ).

Do not miss this unique opportunity to meet Dr. Rivolta in person and feel free to distribute this announcement to people you think would be interested.

We look very much forward to welcoming you to this seminar.

Kind regards,

Prof. Serge Leyvraz                            Prof. Ulrich Keilholz
