The Charité Comprehensive Cancer Center became member in the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI).
The OECI stands for the establishment of European Comprehensive Cancer Centers whose focus lies in a combination of patient care and information, prevention and research. In this regard, main issues are the interdisciplinary high-quality medical care and the (advance) boost of translational cancer research. The main goal is to create a basis of innovative cancer treatment by means of a network of oncological centers with high-standard and concerted infrastructures. Hereby, new options to conduct cancer research arise in Europe to an extent that single cancer center are not able to perform.
