The EORTC
The European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) is an independent, not-for-profit cancer trial organization headquartered in Brussels.
The mission of the EORTC is to conduct international translational as well as clinical trials to improve standards of care for cancer.
EORTC's main goals are to prolong survival and improve the quality of life of cancer patients through new therapeutic strategies with existing drugs, surgical techniques and with radiotherapy. In addition, the EORTC supports the development of new drugs and approaches in collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry in the best interest of patients.
The EORTC:
Is international: The EORTC coordinates clinical research in more than 35 countries.
is multidisciplinary: research covers all aspects of cancer treatment, from imaging and radiology to surgery and therapeutic innovations supported by proven experts in all fields.
Researches on many tumor types: thanks to the broad network of experts in the cancer field, no cancer type is too rare for the EORTC to tackle. Research is solution-oriented for all cancer types; no one is left behind.
Works in compliance with laws and regulations: In today's complex regulatory environment, EORTC experts ensure that all activities meet the strictest quality requirements and regulations.
Is independent: EORTC's research is conducted under the premise of independence. All results are published to ensure that patients and the oncology community benefit from the findings.
