Psycho-oncological Support During Inpatient Stays
The Charité Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCCC) offers at all three Charité clinical sites
- in Berlin-Mitte (Campus Charité Mitte CCM),
- in Berlin-Steglitz (Campus Benjamin Franklin CBF) and
- in Berlin-Wedding (Campus Virchow-Klinikum CVK)
a psycho-oncological consultation service. At your request or whenever necessary the doctors treating you will organise for a psycho-oncologist to come and see you on the ward.
Our services include:
- Individual psychological and emotional support for cancer patients and their relatives during the inpatient stay
- Relief in acute crisis
- Training in techniques for relaxation and self-calming
- Support in coping with the disease and in making decisions about the course of treatment
- Arranging further help
Outpatient Psycho-Oncological Counseling for Cancer Patients and their Relatives

At the outpatient psycho-oncology department on the Charité Mitte (CCM) campus we offer advice and support on living with cancer
Our range of services include
- support in acute crisis
- assistance in coping with the illness and treatment-related effects
- helping to develop new perspectives
- support for decision making during the course of treatment
- relaxation methods
- counselling of relatives
- information on patient led support groups, psychotherapy and other helpful services
