We would like to cordially invite you to another CCCC workshop which focuses on Next Generation Drug Development.
We are especially delighted to announce that Prof. Ruud H. Brakenhoff, Amsterdam, has accepted our invitation to give a talk on Development of targeted treatment of head and neck cancer by functional genomics.
Date: 16 April 2015
Time: 3:00 – 6:00 p. m.
Venue: Hörsaal Nervenklinik, Bonhoefferweg 3, Campus Charité Mitte, 10117 Berlin
Ruud H. Brakenhoff, PhD is molecular biologist at the Tumor Biology section of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery of the VU University Medical Center, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He studied medicine and was graduated at the Radboud University Nijmegen. The same university awarded him in 1992 the PhD title on the thesis entitled: "Structure of lens proteins: a molecular genetic approach". From 1992 his research interest switched to the molecular pathogenesis and genetic progression of cancer - particularly of head and neck cancer - in order to identify the causative cancer genes, to find biomarkers for molecular diagnosis and personalized treatment, and to screen for novel druggable gene targets. In 1990 he became interested in the role of the human papillomavirus in head and neck cancer. From 2005 he became professor in head and neck cancer genetics and heads the Tumor Biology section. He has (co)authored over 150 peer reviewed papers, and introduced a model of head and neck carcinogenesis in the literature and a textbook on molecular oncology. His main interest is in translational research, studying head and neck cancer in models as well as human patients, and bringing new molecular findings to the clinic.
We look very much forward welcoming you to our common exchange of ideas and experience and to lively discussions.
